"MALAYSIA : MY SECOND HOME" program is to allow people from all over the world, who fulfill certain criteria, to stay in Malaysia as long as they wish on a social visit pass that includes a multiple entry visa. The Social Visit Pass is initially for a period of 10 years and is renewed thereafter every 10 years.
WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
It is open to all citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age.
The applicant who is below 50 years old just have to provide a minimum fixed deposit of RM300,000 at any Malaysian financial instiution (approximately USD85.000) AND have a monthly offshore income equivalent to at least RM10,000(approximately USD3,000). Most of this deposit can however be withdrawn after 12 months for purpose of house purchase or medical expenses or children's education. But if applicant is above 50 years old, he has only to place a fixed deposit of RM150,000 and prove a monthly income as stated.
